Friday Fun: Perspective is ALL

You say Po-TAY-to
and I say Po-TAH-to
Let’s laugh the whole thing off© Madelyn Griffith-Haynie, CTP, CMC, ACT, MCC, SCAC
from the Friday Funnies SeriesQuick Intro before we get to the Funnies
How things look depends on your point of view: where you are standing when you look at them — physically and perceptually.
Point of view depends on a lot of factors: how old you are, where you’re from, what’s familiar, your ethnicity, whether you are a male or a female, even what you’re looking FOR when you look.
To help clients get unstuck, coaches use a technique called reframing to help them change context — to stand somewhere else to look at a challenge or a situation with a fresh perspective.
Marriage counselors work with the problem of perspective all the time. Things look one way to him and another to her, and off to the divorce attorney we go.
Related Comic — Blizzard Time: Romance in Wisconsin
And then there are the Funnies
Comics and comedians use reframing too, a sudden or quirky shift in perspective to make us laugh. And that’s what the Fridays Funnies Series is going to play with.
Unlike the ongoing Sunday Smiles and Monday Funnies you’ll find on Chris The Story Reading Ape’s Blog, these Friday Funnies will show up only occasionally, usually clustered around a theme.
If I get the feeling that things have gotten a tad serious here on ADDandSoMuchMORE.com – or in the world – get ready for another hit of humor, most likely another Friday Funny.
YOU PLAY TOO
If you have something on your website or blog that relates to the theme, especially if it’s humorous, please feel free to leave a link in a comment. Keep it to one link per comment or you’ll be auto-spammed, but multiple comments are just fine and most welcome.
AND NOW for some more humor . . .
Don’t forget that you can always check out the sidebar
for a reminder of how links work on this site, they’re subtle ==>
This Friday’s theme: Perspective
For those “Why me, Lord?” days

this & all below from Pinterest
Make it a Good Day
I Love You Just the Way you Are
Out of the box thinking
Speaking of food . . .
From a dog’s POV
Calling all idiots
We need each other
EVERYBODY PLAY!
NO explanation needed
Th-th-th-at’s all folks!

SOMETIMES weird – lol? Some days I’m of the mind that it’s never a good thing to be serious very many times at all. I sure feel better when I remember that – and am a great deal more effective too.
Here’s to humor!

Thank you sooooo much for this…having just finished my latest post, my brain needed the chance to unwind and bask in other people’s humour…being clever and amusing can be really hard work sometimes 🙂 I just love your blog….I meant to get here much sooner, but the weekdays have been really intense/busy this time of year….and, by the time time I get home, I just have the energy for Netflix and an early night. I’m working on changing that, and then I will “see you” more often….also, thanks for the “like” 🙂 Thanks for sharing 🙂

I know – with what’s going on politically, I need time away to be able to cope too, and appreciate every amusing posts I run across, even though I rarely get anywhere in blog-land as often as I’d like either. Thanks for being here NOW.
Although you are right – putting these kinds of posts together can be time consuming – it’s time spent comparing degrees of humor vs. horror. I don’t think I would have taken an easy breath since November otherwise.

I’ve only seen a few of the newest doctor. I didn’t have the means to see them the last couple of years, now I’m streaming BBC America, so I can catch up, at some point. I want to watch some of the really old ones again, but it’s hard to find them captioned.
The world should be captioned!!
Running captions on people’s foreheads. Special glasses I could wear that would translate.
Talk about different perspective.
Me mishearing something, or the captions being off, that can really change the perspective. xo – w

Sometimes for the better – lol. Do you have Hulu? Almost all of their offerings have an option to turn captions on or off. That’s how I watched from the beginning, but I let my subscription go, so no more binge watching for me! (as I advise others, I needed to make sure I “stay off the slide” lol)

Exterminate . . . ad nauseum, you mean? 🙂
The Weeping Angels ::shudder:: tho’ I thought they overdid it a bit with those episodes, however. After a while I fast-forwarded thru them (just enough stopping to keep up with the plot).
But the Cybermen were *always* scary – too close to Nazi Germany (and Marshall Law potential) – serious nightmare territory.

Yes, the weeping angels were scary, but I thought that if you just threw a bag over their heads, they wouldn’t be able to see you, so they would be stopped quite easily :0) The Cybermen were relentless and more ‘human’ than the Daleks so I think that’s why they scared me more.

Madonna used the f word twice and said something about blowing up the White House and there were a couple of others that displayed ugliness. I didn’t expect the march to be sweet and sappy but at least some could use common sense. I guess, as a whole, it was a success.

OMG! If women (and men) are going to make the points that NEED to be made, we must ALL MAKE SURE we don’t return Trumpet’s deplorable behaviors and actions with similar. Every single exception will undermine the entire movement, and cause others to suspect our reasons for speaking out, marching, boycotting, etc. NONE of us can allow ourselves to lose our heads to temper and allow ourselves to be dragged down to his swampy level.
And we will be baited.
