Feel Good Video – Well Deserved

can change the world.
Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Phillip Martin – artist, educator, advocate

Martin is the heartwarmingly generous and world-changing artist and educator who created (and has allowed me to use) the adorable graphics that accompany the majority of my posts here on ADDandSoMuchMore.com.

Changing the World, One Wall at a Time

He ALSO travels the world to stimulate cities, towns and villages to work and play together on a project  that inspires positive community involvement as a tool for change.

He does this by creating highly visible artwork with their children — painting murals on the walls of their schools, abandoned buildings, and other places where art can make a difference (at his own expense).

Don’t you love it when the GOOD guys get the press?

Video Background

Martin funds his site expenses with donations, earns income and funds his mural advocacy with money he gets from Google AdSense.

The Google folks recently learned about his murals and liked what they heard. They sent a film team to Columbus, Ohio, to check out one of his projects.

The video is now on YouTube. If you like it (and you will) please share it with your friends.  We ALL can use a hit of feel good inspiration that what we do
CAN and DOES make a difference — and we can ALL use more help getting the word out.**

  • You can find the video with a YouTube search using “Phillip Martin Google AdSense” or you can CLICK HERE to hop right over.
  • There’s a link to his website on the sidebar of every post on this blog, so you can see more of his work (scroll down to the links on that skinny column to your right, under Techies with Heart).
  • You can CLICK HERE to read my version of his inspiring resume (essentially his, with a few nip-tucks – permission requested and received from his FaceBook page)

Readers Rewarded

When you jump over to Martin’s site, don’t skip the text in your eagerness to get to the artwork. It will mean SO much more if you know the stories behind what you’re looking at. (WARNING: If you are like me and cry when you are touched, grab that Kleenex™ box before you click!!)

IF YOU ARE AN EDUCATOR, you REALLY want to take the time to click around over there – he’s got really cool, totally free, no-strings-attached resources for you as his gift to education.  What a guy, huh?

Want something proprietary?

As I said in my first article about Martin, if you have the thought that you might want to commission him for a school , team or site logo, custom clip art, T-shirt design or other special project, PLEASE take the time to follow up on that instinct.  The guy must surely need the bucks, because he GIVES SO MUCH AWAY, and we have been shamefully stingy with teacher pay here in the getting-less-good-for-all-but-the-wealthy ole’ USA.

You’ll figure out all by your lonesome that he’s away A LOT, but can always be contacted by e-mail: <phillip.martin.art@gmail.com> or reached on his FaceBook Page.

Click HERE for pictures of a recent mural project and an article on his activities posted by The Columbus Dispatch.

DO ME A FAVOR: Once you’ve watched Martin’s YouTube video, please take 1 more minute to scroll down to the comments beneath and click the “thumbs-up” like button on mine (beginning with “WHATEVER you think of Google,”) — so that it will be shown ABOVE the off-topic rant left by somebody with a Google-ax to grind (which currently has 3 thumbs up):  it so unfair to Phillip to leave people with that nasty taste in their mouths after all he does for our world.

Please help me help him. Thanks!

Madelyn, You haven’t posted about Kate. What is her status? I saw your post on Friday and I had a scheduled appointment with her for 1230 – so I understood she wouldn’t make it. Any new word? Scott Becker

    • OFF TOPIC for anyone else reading:

You know what I know. She IS in hospice (finally – took a while to find her a bed), and I am waiting for somebody to let ME know more so that I can let everyone else know too.

It’s hard to believe there is no time for even a quick phonecall, but I have personal experience that sometimes the time to inform others means something else can’t be done – and the something else is almost always more “important” (in that it directly affects Kate’s well-being).

Trust that *everyone* involved is doing the VERY best they can in a situation that is complicated by the fact that Kate was suddenly unable to fly home where things had been set up for her.

Peggy and I will be contacting her clients as soon as things settle down – Kate is not in a place to be able to direct us to her records, so the time it will take to sift through her files to gather the info is not our top priority right this second. I’m sure you can understand – but know that WE know you are all eager to hear, and wondering what the implication will be for YOU. Sit tight a little while longer – we won’t forget you.

Thanks for your concern – say a prayer – and use EVERYTHING for your growth and upliftment.

      xx,
      mgh
